Examinations
The Examinations Office administers over 3000 public examination entries throughout the year for Years 10, 11, 12 and 13. The major exam session is in May/June. We currently use four examination boards for more than 20 different subject areas. All examinations run at the Academy adhere to the JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) rules and they publish notices for the candidates to read. It is important that all candidates and parents are familiar with the regulations.
The department is staffed by: Elizabeth Pickering, the Exams Officer, we have a panel of trained invigilators who are responsible for the everyday running of the exams and looking after the needs of the students during the exam sessions.
For all exam queries please email: exams@open-academy.org.uk
The Exams Guidance Booklet is a handy reference guide for parents and students covering all aspects of public examinations including a FAQ section. All students get a copy of the booklet as they start their GCSE course.
All the school exam timetables will be published on the website as soon as available and all students receive a copy of their individual timetables as soon as all entries are complete.
