July 2026: The Open Academy - Sixth Form Provision

We wrote to key stakeholders, on 13 April 2026, relating to the Open Academy 6th form provision.

All consultation information was considered by the DfE via the Regional Director’s office.  Their decision is that the closure of the sixth form (only) should go ahead and that this change should happen at the end of this school year.

This will also bring about the change in age range of the school (from 11-19) to 11-16.

Norfolk City Council manages the admissions for Open Academy.

Open Academy's Pupil Admissions Number 110 students.

In Year Admissions

Mid-term transfer – parents/carers who wish to change their child’s school should apply directly to the Schools Admissions Service.

Y6 Admissions

Year 7 transfer – application forms can be obtained from your child’s primary school or you can contact the Schools Admissions Service.
