Maths A Level

What will you study?
The course consists of 3 main sections. Pure maths builds on the algebra, graphs and trigonometry studied at GCSE as well as an introducing calculus for the first time. Mechanics considers both forces and objects in motion whilst statistics covers techniques to collect and analyse data.

What grades do I need?
5 GCSE’s at a 4 or above including a Maths at grade 7 or above (6’s will be considered on an individual basis). You will be expected to manage your time well in order to meet deadlines and keep up with the demands of the course.

Where does it lead?
Studying A level Mathematics helps students develop a logical approach to problem-solving, as well as their mathematical knowledge and skills. It is therefore useful preparation for a wide range of degree courses and careers in finance, engineering, science and many more.

Entry requirements: Five 4-9 grades at GCSE, including at least a grade 7 in Mathematics.
