PSHCEE

Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship and Enterprise Education

As an Academy with a Christian ethos, this aspect of education is central and underpins all that we do both within the curriculum and in the wider life of the Academy.

All students attend a weekly assembly, with a theme related to the Core Values of the Academy.

We also run a variety of trips both locally and abroad, which add tremendously to the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) values we uphold.

The delivery of PSHCEE at the Academy 2018-19 is as follows:

Key Stage Three

This is delivered in a lesson once a fortnight with additional discrete drop down events run by both internal and external presenters. The programme is mapped across the key stage and recorded centrally. A range of events including money matters (Enterprise) and Sex Education (SRE) are covered in this key stage.

Key Stage Four

In Year 10 and year 11 we have timetabled lessons on a weekly basis where the entitlement is covered through schemes of work delivered by teaching staff in the Academy.
We cover:
Citizenship and Enterprise
Sex Education and Health
Work Experience and Careers Guidance

0A6 Enrichment

Y12 and Y13 engage in a programme of activities to ensure the entitlement of PSHCEE is covered. This is supplemented by a weekly briefing and a range of trips and events both in and out of the Academy.
